CROSS RIPPER SLASHER

After the much awaited "Revolution Patch" or the so called Rebalancing Patch, Guillotine Cross had a major increase in damage formula as well as the other jobs. And the evolution of new tactics with regards to PvP has made the game more interesting.

The emergence of "CROSS RIPPER SLASHER".. well aware that this is one of the deadliest skill of a GX, it was oftentimes used way back before the Revolution Patch. But today, It has proven itself to be a threat once again.

Basic CRS Build:

CRS damage formula mainly focuses on the players BaseLv, JobLv, agility, and Base damage. So here are some build suggestion when going for a CRS Type of build.

90+ str = for increased damage
100 or 100+ agi = mainly for increased damage of CRS
90+ dex = for accuracy (HIT)
90+ vit = for def and HP
1 int = just leave it at 1 unless you prefer using Soul Destroyer
the rest is luk = for damage and hit

I come up with this....

100 str
100 agi
90 vit
91 dex
1 int
58 luk

 at 150/50, Hit=442, Atk=182

Advantage = High damage and accuracy, can switch to other GX build like Crit, CI or hybrid..
Disadvantage = not so very low HP compared to others.

This are just one of those GX builds out there. This is just only a guide..

CRS Skill build requirements

Katar Mastery 10/10
Sonic Blow 10/10
Advanced Katar Mastery 5/5
Rolling Cutter 5/5
Cross Ripper Slasher 5/5

Tried CRS on enemy with immune proxy only.

GX PVP Tips and Tricks (VS. Top three Jobs in PVP)

For PVP beginners and addicts as well, here are some PVP Tips and Tricks for a Crit, CI type of GX that I have collected a few years ago..

Guillotine Cross(GX) VS Royal Guard(RG)

Normally, RG's in PVP usually uses Pinpoint Attack,Banishing Point, Overbrand, Exceed Break(sometimes causes 1 hit) and an Reflect damage that can reflect up to 40% of our attack. So here is some tips when fighting a Full Gear RG with these types of skill in PVP.

For RG w/o Inspi and w/o FCP

In fighting this type of RG. The important thing we need to do is. First, Bring a Drill katar[1](for full strip) with golem card inside it. note(no other card but this so it will not be destroyed). Then use Oblivion curse to disable using his skill. Also use Enchant Poison and Venom Impress on the Enemy( This will add an additional damage but dont use it when the enemy is equipped with "Argiope" or "Evil Druid" Carded armors). Usually, this kind of skill build has low int or no int at all and obli curse can stick to them very well. Then, Use Venom Pressure to quickly poison an enemy or you can fight with normal attacks(with this strategy, make sure your hands are quick for potions). And finally, when the RG is stripped and poisoned as well, Switch to Main weapon, use EDP and kill the enemy. =)

TIPS: I dont require EDP at first because of reflect damage, but if your attack has a "ZERO damage or a Miss", this normally occurs when an RG has high def and drill katar's attack power are too low, then it is the time to use EDP.

For RG w/ Inspi and w/ FCP

GX may have a hard time fighting with this kind of RG. With this RG buff, Obli curse or any other poisons may not take its effect. Drill katar  is also useless at this point. So I suggest using big time healing pots like Buns, berries, seeds etc. First, Use EDP and fight w/ normal attacks, Cross Impact or any other tactics you have until the Inspiration & FCP effect wears off. You may also use a Reflect type of equipment like Valkyrie mantue and S.orc lord card.

TIPS: Usually this is the hardest part in fighting an RG so I suggest fighting in long range using Cross Impact until the inspi wears off.

Guillotine Cross(GX) vs Genetic

Usually, Genetic uses Hellplant(damage mostly at 25k and up, normally causes a stun effect for about 4 to 5 secs and bleeding also), Fire Expansion(damage usually 30k up and have a chance to destroy enemy's armor), Blood Sucker(like leech end in GX poison but with less damage and duration), Mandragora Howling(chances are, all skill have a fixed casting time. Ex. cloaking may have a 2 to 3 sec of casting time).

With this types of skills. First thing to do is use EDP, Leech End poison, (Genetic have an FCP skill so it is not advisable to use Drill katar, use main weapon instead). Like a normal tactic of a GX in PVP. Use Venom Pressure + Venom Impress on the enemy. And when poisoned, Now is the time to fight.

TIPS: It is better to fight a genetic with cross impact when his main skill was Hellplant(because of the stun effect) and if you are not yet shouted by mandragora howling. This strategy enables you to fight with an advantage because of leech end poison and normally Gene without IMBA items(like S.TGK card, Devi Card, etc.) can be killed by 2 cross impacts in succesion.

Guillotine Cross(GX) VS Sura

Normally, Sura's skills in PVP are: Hellsgate(normally damages 40k and up), Guillotine Fist(a 1 hit K.O skill but sometimes can be managed with a proper defense set equipment),Cursed Circle(you cannot move up to 7 secs.), and other skills like tiger cannon that Drains your SP.

For Hellsgate Type

In fighting a sura. Leech end skill are the best poison to use(this also causes distraction to the enemy).
We also need to know if we can survive the Hellsgate to have a chance. I suggest using def set first when inflicting leech end to an enemy by using venom pressure and Venom Impress + backslide. Then when poisoned. Switch to main weapon then use EDP. If we cannot withstand the high damage inflicting Hellsgate, Use tactics Like Cross Impact + Backslide so they can hardly hit. For normal attacks, if we can manage to survive the Hellsgate. Use full heal pots and we'll have a good chance to win. For Sura with IMBA equips like(STGK etc), we need to use also IMBA equips. But in case that if we dont have any. Use IMBA scrolls like GR scroll and TGK. I think that's the only way. =)

TIPS: If you have a "Weapon Blocking" skill, use it. For sometimes it can evade HG. Drill katar might also be useful in this so you may want to try it.

For EF type(Guillotine Fist)

Same as above, Use EDP+ Leech End + Venom Pressure and Venom Impress on an enemy. Also follow it with backslide so we're not an easy standing target for an EF type Sura. Also remember that if they forgot to use ruwach, always prepare the "Hiding" skill for evasion. Another Good way of evading EF is through Weapon blocking.

Same as an HG type sura, Use CI+backslide or use drill katar when fighting with normal attacks. But normal attacks are not advisable in fighting an EF type. They have the cursed circle skill and can be an easy target to them(except if you can managed to survive with the EF).

And for some reason that you can't manage to kill the enemy, Try using S.orc lord card + high upgrade Valkyrie mantue. In this case. If the EF is too strong to handle, The enemy might also be dead because of the reflect. This is also advised with a No Cast EF.

TIPS: Leech end + Cross impact + backslide are the advisable strategy especially with a No Cast EF. Also use scrolls so we can have a good chance in fighting them.

Overall, This is only few of the many strategies when battling other jobs in PVP. There are a lot to discover so why not try.

Episode 26 - Revolution (Skill Rebalancing: Renewal Phase 2)

For this newest patch, "Episode 26 - Revolution". GX class will have an upgrade with regards to the attack power and skill requirements of some skills. Here are the list of their rebalanced versions.

Dark Illusion
Skill range is changed (4 + SkillLv cells).
Can now be used in siege.

Previous version  of DI cannot be used in siege and has a skill range of 5/6/7/8/9 depending on the skill level.

Counter Slash
Damage formula is changed (Damage is now increased by users BaseLv, Agi, and JobLv).

Hallucination Walk
The HP cost when using the skill is changed.

Rolling Cutter
Damage formula changed.
Damage dealt is now increased by your BaseLv.
At level 5 the area of effect increases from 3x3 to 5x5.

Cross Ripper Slasher
Skill range is increased (8 + SkillLv cells).
Damage formula is changed (Damage is now increased by BaseLv and AGI).

Does this mean that CRS doesn't require 10 counters anymore to have a maximum damage? If so, you only need to cast 1 rolling cutter and CRS are on its way! =)

Poison Smoke
The success rate is increased.
When using poison smoke, you no longer lose the poisoning weapon effect.

Poisonous Smoke can now be spammed especially during woe hours and it only require a single poison. Before, it has a 50% chance to take its effect for every 2 seconds. I wonder how is it right now?

These are the newest upgrades for the GX classes. Lets just wait and see how these skills takes effect in game. =)

Gullotine Cross Basic Stat Build

Guillotine Cross also known as "GX" has a popular tradition in terms of building up its character. Ragnarok players often experiment on building up their Gx's because its the only job that can equip Katars, Daggers, Shields+One-Hand Weapon, One-Hand Swords, and even One-Hand Axes all at the same time! In that case, Gx can be the dominating class if it is properly equipped with stat, skills and equipment used.. So Here it goes.

Like what I've said, GX has the majority of weapon combinations including shields. The most popular build and is commonly used are the "Crit or Critical Type","DD  or Dual Dagger Type","CI or Cross Impact Type"..

"Crit-Type"

First is the "Crit Type". Crit Types are the most popular build of Gx's. Basically, they are the most easy and convinient to use when levelling. Why? With their high Flee and Crit rate, monsters might have a hard time hitting them and Crit Gx's normal attack rarely miss. Also, Crit Gx's barely using their skill to kill a monster because most of the time, they use normal attack in killing them. So you dont need to waste your zeny for some expensive sp healing potions. =)

Crit types has a stat build like this, High Str for damage and Weight capacity, High Agi for Flee and Aspd, High Luk for Crit and additional Damage, No int, Can have a Medium dex for additional Damage or no dex at all, and the rest is Vit for Def and HP.

"DD-Type "

Next one is the "DD type". DD types usually has a complicated set of weapons and builds in order to be powerful. They used different kinds of Dual Daggers depending on the enemy they fought. Here are some basic weapon combinations based from my experiences and other players thoughts and information that might help. In PvM (Player vs. Monster), DD types traditionally uses a Carded Dagger in the Left hand and an Elemental Weapon in Right hand depending on the property of the monster. In PvP (Player vs. Player),  most common weapons they used today are Icepick in the Left Hand and KVM dagger/Battlegrounds Dagger in the right. For MVP boss hunting, DD types are not typically the most fitting build to use. MVP monsters have a high Flee so you might have a hard time hitting 'em. Most Gx's prefer Crit Types for MVP hunting.

The stat build of DD types goes like this..
For DD type: High Str for damage, Can be High or Medium Agi for Flee and Aspd but depending on the other stat you want to put on, High Dex for Hit and a little Damage *recomended* , a little Luk for damage purposes, No Int, and the rest is Vit for Def and HP.

"CI-Type"

Third is the "CI type". CI types commonly uses their skill to kill an enemy. This build are the fastest killers but its also the most costly build to use. They barely uses their normal attacks to kill an enemy so you might need to spend some zeny in buying SP potions for a non-stop Cross Impact action. CI types has Two main builds. These are, Pure CI which has no Agi so it has a lower Aspd but have more power to its Attack. The other one is the CI Type w/ Agi. They have a lesser damage but can cast Cross Impact twice in succession.

In terms of the equipment used, Crit types, DD types,CI types may have things in common. CI types may use Katars, Dual Daggers, One-Hand Swords and even Shield+Dagger/Sword/Axe when using Cross Impact. But the most common equipment used are Dual daggers. Like what I've discussed. They are most likely stronger than katars plus they can also use Cross Impact skill twice without delay compare to swords, Carded katars may also be used depending on which is stronger, In some cases, GX want their Cross Impact to be powerful that they used Double Two-Handed Swords. It has the most powerful damage but this can bring your aspd down and can only use the skill only once.

All of these can be beneficial to every GX's but experimenting is the key to a much powerful weapon combination. Here are the most common build for CI types.
For Pure CI. High Str, High Dex, can have a High or Medium Luk, No Agi, No int or you can put some if you like for SP purposes but I dont think it can be handy at times, and the rest is Vit.
For CI w/Agi. High Str, High Dex, can have a High or Medium Luk, Medium Agi for Flee and some aspd, No int or whatever you want, and the rest is Vit,

Guillotine Cross builds have many forms and tactics, These are just the most common and widely used stat build today in pRO. There are a lot of things to discover so why not try experimenting.=)
